| Franz Ferdinand I love Franz Ferdinand... a lot. They are just my favourite band. So in January 2006 I went to the Warehouse with my grandad and he said he'd buy me a cd, and I didn't really know what I wanted and I was about to go "Nah, I don't want one." when I kind of saw 'You Could Have It So Much Better' on the rack, and I remember really liking the cover. It was so cool! And nothing like the other cds around it. So I got it... And they completely changed by life for the better. Seriously. Every night I would listen to the cd before I fell asleep... and it never got old! I couldn't get enough. I then got the first cd after much searching and finally around June I was in the Warehouse nearby and saw THE DVD!!! The bitch at the counter didn't hand over the outer cover for some reason, but I was more interested in the disc at the time. As soon as I watched it. I was 100% hooked. It was truly amazing. This band, this skinny little cute guy completely at home on the drums, this bouncy guy switching between this glitter red guitar and keyboards with the gorgeous of grins, this nervous blonde hair angel who would not sing and just shuffled and finally this amazing almost godlike man (to my eyes) dressed entirely in black with a hint of red at his throat, his eyes narrowed dangerously singing all of these songs that I had fallen in love with they all had such unique stage presences. And off stage on this DVD I got to see little snippets of their lives together. They weren't Godlike, untouchable people... They were human, with very different personalities and ways of thinking and acting, Paul laid back and relaxed his jokes relating to his accent or his gappy teeth; Bob sweet and creative playing sneaky pranks on Parker; Nick energetic and joyful playing childlishy with what seemed like a huge wad of gum; And Alex. He talked a lot and when he got really excited he would start stuttering. And for some reason I got the impression that the other three liked to use that to their advantage so they wouldn't have to talk to much, they kind of seemed to like to just hang round in the background and occassionally speak a word or two to keep him on track. :D I knew then that I would be enthralled with this band for the rest of my life... I haven't seen them live. But I hope I can, and if I get to meet them I'd love to tell them how much they've helped me. But I know I couldn't so I'll shake all of their hands and thank them.
